Street ProjectsCampus Street Improvement Projects This Summer
Several campus street improvements will begin following Commencement.
Over the next several weeks, six comprehensive street improvement projects will be active on the Urbana campus. The enhancements will include repaving surfaces, replacing curbs and gutters, restriping traffic markings, and more.
Crews are expected to maintain traffic flow throughout the work at all locations. However, temporary vehicular control procedures, such as the use of flaggers and lane adjustments, may occur in specific phases as necessary.
- Gerty Drive from First Street to Griffith Drive (May 20 – June 4)
- Oak Street from Gerty Drive to St. Mary’s Road (May 20 – June 6)
- Gregory Drive from First Street to Dorner Drive (June 3 – June 17)
- Sixth Street from Gregory Drive to Pennsylvania Avenue (June 4 – June 18)
- Goodwin Avenue from Gregory Drive to Nevada Street (June 5 – June 18)
- Gregory Street from Nevada Street to Oregon Street (June 5 – June 20)
Please remain alert and use caution when traveling in construction zones. Slow down and give crews plenty of room to operate for their safety and that of pedestrians, bicyclists, or drivers who also may be in the area.
