Local resident resources:
- The cities of Champaign and Urbana have their own recycling and special collections programs for the personal items of local residents.
- Twice a year in May and October, a residential electronics collection event at Parkland College is held. Registration is required.
- Every spring, the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) sponsors a household hazardous waste collection event at State Farm Center. Registration is required.
- Every spring, Facilities & Services at the University of Illinois hosts their spring Dump & Run program, collecting household donations from the residence halls and general community. These items are donated to local non-profits.
- Every summer, the University YMCA hosts their summer Dump & Run program, collecting household donations from the community for a big sale held in August.
