Rules for Personal Micromobility Devices
To protect the safety of students, faculty, staff and visitors at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, the university has established rules for these vehicles to operate while on university property. These rules are referenced in the Campus Administrative Manual (CAM) policies, FO-35 “In-Line Skates, Roller Skates, Skateboards, e-Scooters, and Self-Balancing Personal Transportation Devices” and FO-13 “Bicycle Regulations”.
All personal or rental micromobility devices, including bicycles, scooters, skateboards, etc. must follow the rules of the road.
Following are some of the rules that must be followed, if you own or operate a
- Regular pedal bicycles

To operate on streets and in-street bike lanes or off-street bike paths | |
